The Rosary is a meditation on Our Lord’s Incarnation, Passion, Death, and Resurrection from the dead. At Fatima, our Lady requested that we pray the rosary daily. Although the use of beads for prayer began earlier than the 1200’s, it is piously believed that Saint Dominic began the rosary devotion as we know it today. He preached the rosary as a way of defeating the wrong thinking of the Albigensians who did not believe in the Mystery of Christ. Outside of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the rosary is the most powerful prayer available to us.
In 1571, Christians, who were outnumbered, defeated Moslems in the Battle of Lepanto by praying the rosary.
Recently, my family prayed a 54 day rosary novena to put an end to a very bad situation that involved many people, including one of my closest friends. This situation had been going on for many years. We had said many prayers and novenas and even had a number of masses offered for this bad situation. Finally we decided to pray an additional rosary each day for 54 days. 27 Days were in petition and 27 days were for thanksgiving. On the 54th day of praying the rosary novena, I saw my friend as we were both walking into church. My friend turned to me and acknowledged me and then we hugged each other. I think I was in shock for a time afterwards as it had been years since we had even spoken to one another. Over time we also noticed other good fruits that had come from our 54 Day Rosary Novena. I am just now realizing the power of the rosary prayer. Our Lady does intercede for us. She brings our prayers to Jesus.

I would like to share with you the very first coloring page for my blog. It shows us giving our hearts (and souls) fully to Mary’s Immaculate Heart so that she in turn will offer our hearts to Jesus.
Have your children consecrated themselves to Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary? I admit, I never thought of this until I was contacted by Allen and Denae Hebert over at http://www.yourholyfamily.com this past January. They asked me if I would be willing to create a coloring book with 33+ coloring pages that would be a companion to a family consecration book that they are writing. This consecration book is based on a book edited by Father Nathan Cromly, CSJ, entitled, TOTUS TUUS.
While drawing these 33+ coloring pages, I followed along with Allen and Denae in consecrating myself using the Totus Tuus book. I based my drawings on ideas that Allen and Denae had written from meditations in their family consecration book.
This endeavor has been a most wonderful experience. I really enjoyed working with Allen and Denae. I feel very blessed to have been able to participate in this most important project.
I know many will feel as I do. I have a very profound feeling that everyone, even children, should consecrate ourselves to Jesus through Mary.
